Lewis

Lewis the Koala was rescued from Australia's wildfires and was brought to many peoples attention by a viral video. Sadly the hospital decided to euthanize Lewis a week after he was rescued. His burns were really bad and it was clear that they weren't going to get any better. He was already on pain relief and the hospital warned earlier in the week that they would euthanize him if he wasn't treatable and the pain was to much. "(Our) number one goal is animal welfare, so it was on those grounds that this decision was made," the hospital said.

Many Koalas and other animals are very effected by Australian widlfires and more then 350 Koalas are said to have been killed. Experts worry about the Koala population as Koalas are endangered. If you want to help save koalas and other animals in the fire, click here
